Homage to the Great Wisdom Mother Prajnaparamita!

"Space is originally enlightened as Mother Prajnaparamita, or Buddha Samantabhadri. This great open mother has no territories, divisions, or restrictions. She is simply open—open to everything—and she immediately develops. From this openness she allows a natural lawfulness to spontaneously arise without any force. As a result, four additional mothers naturally appear. They are named earth, water, fire, and air.

Why do we call these five elements “mothers?” Everything manifests from them. They give birth to all displays—all displays are their children. There is nothing we experience on the tangible level that does not come from these five elements.

These elements did not just recently become mothers—they have been mothers since beginningless time. Seeing these mothers as total openness—the enlightenment state as it is—is practice, or attainment."
