2017 PBC Mantra Accumulation of the Buddha White Umbrella
This year Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche is requesting the International PBC Sangha to accumulate the mantras of the Buddha White Umbrella at least through July 2017 during the Annual PSL Dzogchen Summer retreats.
White Umbrella is an emanation of Tara who is renowned as a great buddha with the profound ability to subdue and pacify negative forces. She holds aloft a white parasol, which symbolizes her protection of all beings. She is also Buddha Samantabhadri and Prajnaparamita, who manifested from the crown of Buddha Shakyamuni, and is the consort of Buddha Amitayus.
There are four scanned pages of the White Umbrella practice, which are excerpted from the White Umbrella sadhana of the great master and terton Raga Asye according to the instructions of Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche.
We are accumulating the long mantra of White Umbrella (pgs 9-11), as well as her Heart Mantra and Condensed Heart Mantra (pg 12).
Below is an introduction to White Umbrella by Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, as well as extensive meditation instructions on how to practice this particular sadhana of White Umbrella. All of these teachings were given during the PSL Windhorse Retreat on White Umbrella on May 29-30, 2011.
After you accumulate the mantra during your meditation session, remain in meditation for as long as you have time, abiding in the true nature.
Conclude by dedicating the merit and making sincere aspiration prayers for the immediate happiness and enlightenment of all beings.
