White Tara Empowerment & Statue Consecration Ceremony
October 24, 2009 - October 26, 2009
Saturday, October 24: 1-5pmSunday, October 25: 10am-1pm
White Tara is the mother of all the buddhas, and is known for increasing longevity, prosperity, and vitality. Among all of the twenty-one emanations of Tara, White and Green Tara are the most important practices in Mahayana Buddhism. This empowerment and teaching will be given according to the lineage of Mipham Rinpoche.
We are very pleased to announce that the Khenpo Rinpoches will be installing and consecrating statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, Guru Rinpoche, and Green Tara during this retreat. These three buddhas are of central importance in supporting meditation and visualization practice in Vajrayana Buddhism. Each of these statues is a good size, made according to traditional lineage instructions, and is hand-crafted in Nepal.
The Venerable Rinpoches will consecrate the statues with meditation, prayers, and by putting many relics and sacred substances inside the statues that have been passed down from Buddha Shakyamuni, Guru Rinpoche, and many generations of great lineage masters.
Rinpoches will offer transmissions and lead practices of the ‰ÛÏBuddha sadhana‰ and ‰ÛÏShower of Blessings‰ by Mipham Rinpoche, as well as the ‰ÛÏPraise to the Twenty-One Taras‰ by Buddha Shakyamuni.
All sangha members are welcome to participate in this consecration.
