Tibetan Buddhism Discussion with Students at Wyoming Seminary in Pennsylvania
November 5, 2014 @ 9:50 am - 5:00 pm
Greetings,I’d like to invite you to an unusual event on campus 🙂
Lama Pema Dragpa will be visiting Wyoming Seminary on Wednesday November 5th. He is an American who has been studying and practicing Buddhism for over 10 yrs. Dragpa has a gift of making complex ideas and practices simple, and is relaxed and very open to discussion. Dragpa lives at Padma Samye Ling, a retreat center in upstate NY, not far from Binghamton. He has worked closely with the “Venerable Khenpo Rinpoches”, two extraordinary Tibetan Buddhist monks, and has served as editor of over 17 of their publications.
Dragpa will be visiting classes at Seminary on Nov 5th and will be available for lunch-time discussion. During Bell 9, he will lead a session on coping with stress, and can provide us with a very valuable set of tools to deal with the anxiety of finals and other situations!!!
The schedule is below:
Bell 3: Literature of Success (Erin Griffin) – 307 Sprague
Bell 5-6: Lunch in the Wallace Room
Bell 7: World Religions (Steven Ris) – 214 Sprague
Bell 8: Buddhist Ethics and the Environment (AP Environmental Science)
Bell 9: Techniques to reduce anxiety during stressful times (like finals!!!) – SLRC
I hope that you consider taking advantage of this unique opportunity 🙂
