Over 2,600 years ago, Buddha Shakyamuni gave teachings on how to remove the causes of all suffering and difficulties, and to reveal the essential goodness of ourselves and others. Buddha Shakyamuni later reincarnated as Guru Padmasambahava, the “Second Buddha,” who brought the entire spectrum of the Buddha’s Sutra and Tantra teachings into Tibet.
The Seven Line Prayer is an exceptionally special and famous “hidden treasure” of Guru Padmasambhava that contains the essential meaning of Buddhism.
During this retreat, we will learn about the meaning of the Seven Line Prayer and meditate as it is taught by Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Khentrul Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, great Nyingma masters and scholars who founded the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center which has chapters in over 20 cities in the USA, Russia, Canada, and Puerto Rico, plus monasteries in India, Russia, and at their main stateside monastery and retreat center Padma Samye Ling in upstate New York.
Please contact Matt Lentz for more information about this retreat and weekly meditations:
A vegetarian potluck will be provided on Saturday afternoon.
You may come to all or part of the retreat as your schedule allows.
Weekly meditation practices of PBC Chicago are held every Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the Truc Lam Buddhist Temple.
