Medicine Buddha Transmission and Practice

May 15, 2010 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Medicine Buddha Transmission and PracticeAll beings are tormented by the sufferings of samsara‰ÛÓexternally by physical sickness, and internally by emotional and mental disturbances. In order to free ourselves and others from these sufferings, we take refuge in Sangye Menla: the Medicine Buddha.
During this retreat we will deepen our bodhichitta and meditation through Medicine Buddha practice. The Khenpo Rinpoches will give condensed teachings and transmssion of the first Medicine Buddha practices brought to Tibet, entitled ‰ÛÏPraises to the Eight Medicine Buddhas,‰۝ by the great master Shantarakshita. King Trisong Deutsen and the twenty-five disciples of Guru Rinpoche chanted these prayers, which continue to be practiced today by all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
Venerable Rinpoches will also give transmission and lead the practice of Orgyen Menla: Guru Padmasambhava as the Medicine Buddha, according to the terma lineage of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche. This practice is extremely concise and potent, able to radiate multitudes of blessings and realization for the benefit of all beings.
