The Three Jewels
The gateway to all Buddhist practice is taking refuge in the Three Jewels: the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Let’s explore some of the rare and precious qualities of the Three Jewels and contemplate how this relates to revealing and actualizing our own potential and innate goodness qualities. 10am – noon
Introduction to Tibetan Buddhist Meditation
The practice of meditation is a major aspect of Buddhist practice. But what is it? What are we doing exactly? This class will look at the meaning and purpose of meditation, the stages of development, and ancient lineage instructions that we can put into practice right now. 1:30pm – 4:00pm
Lama Laia (Pema Tsultrim) is a practitioner of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He has been a student of Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche since 1995. Since 1999 Lama Laia has worked closely with the Venerable Khenpo Rinpoches in helping maintain and develop PBC while living at Padma Samye Ling monastery and retreat center in Delaware County, New York.
