Longchenpa taught that the entire conduct of a bodhisattva can be summarized into the two aspects of aspirational and actualizing bodhichitta. The first of these aspirational bodhichitta is based upon the Four Boundless or the Four Immeasurables: immeasurable love, compassion, joy, and equanimity.
