
In response to requests for Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche’s long-awaited companion volumes on the History of Tibetan Buddhism, the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center is making these books available for interested students and friends worldwide.

This two-volume set is written in Tibetan and includes rare and unique explanations of the history of Tibetan Buddhism and Tibet through the mid-9th century based on extensive research and in the context of the six greatnesses of the Nyingma School according to how the great master Rongzompa remembered the deeds of the ancient great beings.

It is entitled Expressing the Six Distinctive Greatnesses of the Ancient School by Recalling the Kind Legacy of the Great Masters, Translators, and Dharma Kings, Known as “Rejoicing Laughter of the Noble Beings.”

Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche began writing this in 1976 with the encouragement of Ven. Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche. Later H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje personally urged him to complete this work as an additional history of the Kama teachings.

These two volumes include an extensive history of the Buddhadharma from 124 BC – 860 AD, the life stories of enlightened masters, a catalog of translations and accomplishments of realized translators, and the political history of Tibetan kings and their support of the Dharma from the 7th to 9th centuries.

This new two-volume history is written in Tibetan and published as a beautiful, limited hardback edition with full interior color totaling over 900 pages!
