“No matter where we go in the six realms, there’s so much trouble. These difficulties are deeper than the ocean and vaster than the sky. In order to avoid this, and to ease our situation and change course, what can we do? We should take the medicine of virtuous activities. Take Dharma as medicine. And we should recognize all unvirtuous activities as poison. They’re not correct, and they’re not good for us. Of course we know this: poison isn’t good for us, and the right medicine is good for us. Therefore, avoid the poison of the unvirtuous, and always connect to the medicine of Dharma. Always have confidence and trust in the Three Jewels of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.”
